City of Cleveland Main Street Celebrates a year of growth and community impact Cleveland Main Street is celebrating a successful year of revitalization, investment, and community engagement in the historic downtown district. The organization’s 2024 impact report highlights a year filled with new businesses, infrastructure improvements, and vibrant events that continue to make Cleveland a thriving destination for residents and visitors alike.
Throughout the year, Cleveland Main Street facilitated over $52,185 in public investments and $18,300 in private investments, ensuring the continued enhancement of the downtown area. These efforts contributed to the completion of two rehabilitation projects and seven public improvement projects, further preserving the charm and character of the historic district.
The downtown community also saw exciting business growth, with eight new businesses opening their doors and 43 new members joining Cleveland Main Street’s network of supporters. These additions reflect the increasing momentum behind Cleveland’s economic development and commitment to supporting local entrepreneurs.
“Seeing this kind of growth and investment in our historic downtown is truly inspiring,” said Crista Cooper, Director of Cleveland Main Street at the Cleveland-Bolivar County Chamber of Commerce.
Community engagement remained at the heart of Cleveland Main Street’s mission, with 15 events hosted throughout the year, bringing residents and visitors together to celebrate local culture and commerce. Volunteers also played a vital role, contributing 150 hours to ensure the success of these initiatives.
As Cleveland Main Street looks ahead to this year, the organization remains committed to fostering economic growth, preserving local history, and creating a welcoming and vibrant downtown district for all.
